Glazed works

We recommend cleaning frames produced with acrylic or glass glazing with a soft, clean microfibre cloth.

For frames glazed with acrylic, we recommend lightly dusting the glazing before cleaning to remove any dirt or debris that might scratch the acrylic before gently wiping the surface with a damp microfibre cloth, avoiding pressure on the surface when wiping.

We do not recommend using glass cleaner.

Framed works – display guide

When hanging your artwork, it is important to consider the implications of how and where it will be presented – after all, you want to preserve it for as long as possible.

Natural light, heat sources and humid or damp environments can all significantly reduce the life of your finished work, causing damage from fading, warping, and water. Fluctuations in humidity can also result in undulations and rippling across the image – so it’s best to keep framed artwork out of the kitchen and bathroom!

Not only can ultra-violet rays from direct sunlight cause undesirable reflections on your prized work, but the light also causes irreversible print deterioration. For this reason, we recommend placing artwork that will be affected by this away from direct sunlight.

Should you wish for works to be produced for climatically challenging environments, our HD Aluminium prints are resistant to water, fire, chemicals and even abrasion – making them the ideal way to display artwork in kitchens, bathrooms or other humid environments. In addition, Direct Prints on Foamex and Direct Prints on Brushed Aluminium can be displayed outdoors due to the UV curing in the process, which renders prints weather-resistant for up to five years in an outdoor environment.

For the height of hanging single pictures, we recommend these be hung at 156cm from the floor to the centre of the image – which is museum standard.
